Spicy Candied Walnuts

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Lightly toast the walnuts on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Remove from the oven and set aside.
  4. Melt the butter in a small stainless steel saucepan and add honey, salt, pepper, cayenne and water.
  5. Cook to the soft ball stage.
  6. Pour the butter mixture over the toasted walnuts and toss to coat.
  7. Place on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and spread out evenly. Bake for 15 minutes.
  8. Cool and store in an airtight container.

Put these out in small bowls for guests and they'll be gone in a snap.
